he features I like the most: Customizable room for any type of features you can activate: megaphone, screen share, microphone... Customizable backgrounds with the opacity slider iFrame is a powerful feature to elevate your room experience. Stage new UI/UX with more engaging features with participants. Last but not least, Spatial has a nice and helpful growing community, which is key nowadays!
- Register and login experience should be simplified - Register and log in without creating an account
SpatialChat got in its brand name the definition of what you will get in your hands to create and elevate your virtual events or work remote experiences, with remarkable inspirations of interactive space types. As an early user, I am using SpatialChat by discovering, learning, and mastering their regular features updates. This platform got a comprehensive vision of the virtual niche in this tight competition.
I love the atmosphere, and also the way it simulates being physically in a room (when you move away from someone, you can't hear them, etc).
It takes a little getting used to. Also if more than one person is screen sharing it starts to look a bit cluttered.
The benefit for me, as a teacher, is that for the students it is really user friendly. They seem to like using SpatialChat which makes online activities more enjoyable.
flexibility to define background images, supported by several browsers, good feature to have different room setups (for audio only, video presentation and ad-hoc gatherings), generally good audio and video quality
the video conference room only allows you to have 5-6 people "on the stage" at the same time, which makes it hard to have questions/discussions with a larger audience. There seems to be no option to define "non-audible" walls in a social gathering map, which leaves you with some problems of interference between different groups chatting (where spatial distance is not always easy to manage)
organising a medium sized international workshop, with multiple video presentations, an ad-hoc poster discussion session and a panel discussion.
Very intuitive, love the platform. Perfect for virtual ice breaker and networking
Not sufficient virtual background , limited feature.
Bringing networking closer to in person. Providing guest with a glimpse of metaverse
Spatial Chat beats Zoom fatigue. We integrated it seamlessly via SSO into our EckoEnterprise platform & it's very popular.
Not much. They are committed to improving the product month on month. Some of the larger pricing plans could be more flexible to cater for events.
It beats Zoom fatigue and integrates well into our user journeys. SSO gives us the ability for a seamless user journey and is in line with our rigid security requirements for our platform.
The way Spatial broadcasts voice based on avatar distance makes it really simple to form small groups talking about different topics spontaneously. This makes it pretty awesome for virtual conferences as you can easily hop from one group to the other in order to find the one that interests you the most. Put up a background with an office layout with one room per team member and you've regained some of the spountaneous interactions that are lost when only chatting with your colleagues via slack.
The screen sharing support could be improved. It works reasonably well but it lacks resolution (when sharing an IDE it can be difficult to read the text). Sometimes the shared screen window becomes black without any apparent reason and you need to exit/enter in order to fix it.
I've participated to many a conference hosted on Spatial and also use it regularly at work to stay in contact with colleagues of my remote team. It is definitely the more spontaneous audio/video chat solution I've tried.
The autonomy of the user to walk into the spaces.
Poor analytics. We don't have data from the engagement of the users in each day or event.
Create a better personal connection within the remote employees.
Its almost like virtual networking in the normal situation
Our user seems could not use it properly due to lack of tutorial before join the chat. Lack of Virtual Background
No, just networking
Spatial chat is amazing, I teach 1-1 sessions and it means that all of my students are able to use the same link and sit at different areas while I am with other students and then when it is there time they can come over. Perfect for this and makes my work a lot easier
There is nothing about spatial chat that I dislike
Spatial chat is saving me time by allowing all of my students to use the same link.
Easy to use without specific application. And I like an additional room function.
There are no functions in Spatial Chat I dislike.
Having weekly virtual breakfast meetings among my community.
I loved that we were able to set up so many different rooms and make it feel like an in-person workshop.
It was a bit challenging for our participants to use on their phones for those who don't have access to computers.
We planned to have an in-person workshop and wanted to achieve the goals of that in an online setting. This platform really made it feel like they were at a workshop.
Stable video and audio, works on all major browsers, even mobile is supported.
Slows down when to many things get pinned in a room. More granular permission would help here.
Networking at virtual conferences and even scientific poster displays.
Exactly the same experience as an actual event. Easy to use, very intuitive look and feel.
Asian language support could be a bit better but it's good enough already.
To host hybrid event during C-19.
The rooms and the practicality of it, the options to use cameras and microphones at the same time, and how you can easily change rooms whenever you want. It's also a very good fact you don't have to create accounts to use it.
Sometimes when we are close to the rooms we can listen to the others from there, but when we stay in the middle of the room it doesn't happen. Sometimes My students had to close the other sites that were using their microphones to use it.
I had many difficulties with communication, because of the pandemic I'm teaching using the computer, and it's horrible to find good platforms to students communicate
Thanks to the user-friendly interface, the event participants could easily switch between the rooms. The ability to change the background and customize the chat rooms are very successful in getting the user into the game.
Nothing actually. It was a great experience to meet new people in these days when we are afraid to meet face to face.
Networking, branding, a real summit experience...
Easy to use and more casual interaction friendly than zoom. The customization options are also very helpful.
Can't think of anything; very good product.
Used it for a cohort training initiative that lasted 10 months and it worked great.
SpatialChat is the best way to talk in small groups in one room. It makes it easier to communicate with other group members even outside SpatialChat.
It could be more fun to have more background images in the template
My team members work remotely. So it's quite a big issue to design a better communication process. We have several app development teams in our department. Each team better be informed about what the others are currently doing, but it is not as important as holding a zoom meeting. So we join SpacialChat all together and talk in small groups if needed. Other ones can hear as if in the office. It has improved our remote communication process.
Ability to have it open at all times no need for owner
Not much I think more background options would be nice
Easier to navigate social settings
Easy to use. Helpful staff, personalisation
Inability to set room sizes yourself and inability ability to move people rooms as admin.
The ability to hold large scale conferences for cheaper.
