One of the most preferred payroll platforms on the web today, Gusto is a great tool for all-around HR management that can handle everything from automatic year-end tax form filing to new-hire form filing, and managing employee benefits. It easily integrates with numerous accounting and business tools, as well as collaboration platforms such as Asana and Autobooks. The platform is well known for its exceptional customer support and delivers great insights and reporting.

I like one that I am getting paid. I like the text and emails. Also when I open the app I like the little piggy. I can see my pay stubs and that my pay has been deposited.
Well, currently there is nothing that I dislike about the app. I don't use a lot of the features because I don't need to. I just need to know that I am getting paid. And it works great for me.
It lets me know when payroll is going out. It's easy to see at a glance that all payroll has been paid. And it's quick to get it done.

Gusto has made payroll so easy for our little company that we don't have to pay an employee to run payroll or file reports for various agencies.
Maybe a downside is that Gusto is so seemless that one forgets all the backoffice work Gusto perfroms, like forms sent to local agencies etc., so in the rare occasion once must look for reports one could get lost becuase one does not need to log in but once a month. This automation lends itself to some unfamiliarity.
Tax compliance. Running payroll is complex especially for a small company like mine and resources are scarce to dedicate capital to the payroll process.
Easy to work with staff, super fast repsponses to emailed questions, (usually less than an hour) Website is intuitive and easy to navigate. Trying to run Payroll run with all State taxes paid to the right departments has been a breeze, and the reason we left Intuit Payroll.
Have not run into any problems yet, we're using payroll, and benefits so far, will be adding retirement options soon.
Making sure all agencies are paid - previous full service payroll comany, QB / Intuit, could not figure it out and were insisting that we needed to handle some things ourselves, which is not full service.
Gusto is very user friendly and our employees appreciate using this service.

We initially had issues with how our health benefits were set up in the system, but we were able to speak to a representative who was able to correct the issue.
Easy to use, able to set up and complete payroll in minutes. Can set it to autorun each pay period.
I had to email them twice because I got emails from them saying that I needed to pay a tax that my state does not require me to pay. It's all fine now.
I have an S corp with myself as the only employee. I tried using two well-known payroll software solutions and they were unable to accommodate my state's laws saying I'm not required to pay state Workers' Comp and unemployment. One company even said I could just pay these unnecessary taxes anyway! My tax preparer recommended I use Gusto. Once I sent Gusto a copy of my state's regulations they set my payroll accordingly and everything runs like clockwork now.
That they take care of and send the proper forms to our guest speakers for tax purposes. This was a problem for us as we would typically forget and have to backtrack to take care of it! Love this and Gusto is amazing!

They are on top of everything we need. Especially the tax aspects associated with our payroll. We are much more productive due to this, as is our staff.

Overall gusto is a very cost-effective and relatively easy site to use for generating payroll for our small business. The costs are some of the best I've researched, and the service provided has been very good.
Overall, the platform is very cost-effective and mostly straightforward to use. I do find that running reports other than the pre-staged ones, does not offer the full range of information I need to manage my business. When trying to run customized reports, the information choices are limited, and I often have to generate more information than I need in order to extract information that I actually want. It would be much easier to offer a fully customize section where I can choose whatever information I want to generate a report.
Easy management of payroll and related federal and state, tax and regulatory filings. Using gusto makes my job extremely easy in this area.
The dashboard is easy to navigate. It's efficient and saves a ton of time filing our company's payroll. I will also add that come tax season it's very helpt to track our documents.
I don't really have much negative to say about this product. As someone that came from a tech background, I appreciate the lack of unnecessary features, and companies that try to reinvent the wheel I find annoying.
We can keep track of everything in one consolidated place. It saves time and is not difficult to use. This is a straight forward product in a time when many companies over complicate things unnecessarily.
I've been using Gusto for several years now. The ease of use is my favorite part, shortly followed by their continual updates based on the feedback of users, and their commitment to communication. I've transferred many clients to Gusto. The setup is straightforward and easy to complete, yet my Gusto rep always calls to see if there is anything that can be done to assist me in the process. I just completed a transfer of eight related businesses to Gusto, utilizing their transfer team and couldn't be happier with the process. They did all of the legwork, following up with questions and to do items in a clear, concise manner; often enough to keep us in the loop, but not annoyingly so. It was an excellent experience and our clients are thrilled with the difference between Gusto and their prior provider.
Generally, Gusto's customer service is great. However, there are times and instances when their response times or answers aren't the most helpful. This is almost always with a notice received, where the answer given is very generic and essentially repeats what's in the letter and advises what you need to do, instead of actually responding to the details and questions asked. As Gusto has grown, their email and online service has declined, though it is still substantially better than their competitors.
Payroll processing is a breeze with Gusto. Gusto eliminates the need to prepare time-consuming quarterly and annual reports, reduces administrative communication with the client, making more space for beneficial advice. Another problem that Gusto solves is entering the payroll data into the accounting software. This is a huge time-saver and added benefit to the client. Their partnership with Guideline also gives business owners a simple and convenient way to offer retirement benefits to their employee without it being cost or time prohibitive. The clean, usability of the platform helps non-payroll savvy employers and employees quickly and easily find and update any information they need. This saves our firm time in handling those requests on their behalf.
Makes the hard parts of managing things like taxes and payroll a breeze. Way better than Zenefits.
Taxes can be a bit complicated, but I don't think that's Gusto's fault. The domain is just complicated. Software handles it as easily as I could imagine,

Finding, cataloguing, and forwarding payroll reports to our treaurer could be easier, more obvious, and more automated.

User-firendly platform. Staff friendly tools for reporting time and time off as well as managing benefits. The integrations of HR resources and 401 K are super helpful. The cost is in line with our budget.
I think the customer service chat feature should be available always - I had to wait three days for a simple answer to something I could not find easily on the knowledge base and FAQS pages.
ONe stop shop for payroll, benefits and managing HR 401K as well as Annual reviews. I am more efficient with my time and feel supported by Gusto, as do my employees.

Gusto disappointed us during the PPP loan process with OnDeck a few years ago. This was an extrodinary miss and caused a lot of confusion and chaos for small business owners trying to manage the COVID landscape with employees and keeping everyone feeling okay with the leadership we had to provide. The loan process was so stressful for us and difficult to get in touch with people to talk through the status.
Payroll is easy for us to conduct and we can focus on the work we love to do more -- creative.
The home page is easy to navigate so its easy to find the reports, run payroll, etc.
Sometimes the customer service/support is slow to get back to you.
