It was easy to schedule out posts on multiple platforms.
I didn't like how I couldn't collaborate with our clients.
We used buffer for managing our posting schedules for over a dozen client accounts.
Buffer dashboard is neat and clean. You will only see a queue of social media posts which you've queued to review or more appropriately which are scheduled to be reviewed. The dashboard is really attractive and organized.
There are limitations. Buffer is picky about what video files it takes. We have a lot of posts where we want to use Facebook tools (handshake tool, check-in tool, feelings tool) which you can't do with Buffer. You also can't tag other pages which is a huge drawback for us.
If you're looking for a reliable posting tool and can do without some of the bells and whistles, this is the one for you. It has done an excellent job letting us schedule posts and it has been extremely reliable with few outages or bugs. Generally if there is a slight issue, they address it quickly and communicate during the process.
It does the job, and is easy to navigate- I would say that almost anyone could work out how to get through the site and utilise it as a tool to benefit their business.
It's just a bit tedious when it doesn't do the task you've set, to the requirements you set out.
It's got a lot lacking- the reliability of it leaves a lot to be desired and it often posts to the wrong channels, or not at all.
It's straightforward, it takes just a minute to learn the system and get used tot he interface which is simple and clean.
It seems like there is always some error or another, there's always a problem with connecting to the channels. There aren't as many options as I would like. There have been some problems of some users on Facebook not being able to see the posts sent through Bugger.
Posting identical messages on all channels with only one login.
I think that Buffer, once you get the hang of it, can be very convenient and pretty quick to use.
A lot of things. They have recurrent "unknown error" issues where posts will fail (especially Instagram), the link shortening will override your text even if you selected "unshortened", you have to know exactly where to click if you want to post to multiple platforms at the same time (not very intuitive), and tagging is near impossible.
We were happy to have a way to share and customize content across platforms. We could schedule, and move on with other tasks! Unfortunately though, we couldn't always trust it to schedule correctly, so we were always double checking posts anyways.
Buffer was one of the only social schedulers that offered all of the platforms we use. The main snag with most of the others was they didn't include Pinterest. I much prefer to have everything in one place! It's also really affordable for small businesses.
I do wish they had a different format for each platform, or at least some of them. I ended up switching my Pinterest account to Tailwind, because it's MUCH easier to use and has a way better interface for that. I've had some troubles with Buffer being slow or glitchy lately, so that's been frustrating.
It helps me keep on my social on track, plan ahead, and not have to worry about it or scramble last minute. It definitely frees up time to focus on other tasks.
I like the fact that you can manage your social media world from one app and you can schedule your posts.
Not any social media are included and programming posts is a pain in the...
Any. Really. After a short period of time using it I have to change to other service.
I like that I am able to pre load Buffer with the posts for the week but it is difficult and tedious to do so many in a row.
I dislike the tedious nature to doing the posts.
Regular posting
In my personal opinion I think that Buffer is a very good tool for beginners in the world of social media, your graphic interface is very simple and easy to use so that anyone can use it, for those who venture into social networks and time shorten us with so many information and schedules to publish, this tool could be of great help because with it we can program any content whether text, links, photos and videos to post them by social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, G + and Instagram also has recommendations of the best publication schedules to achieve better performance with our publications. If you are starting in this wonderful world of social networks, I recommend this tool very useful.
I like that I can keep track of my content all in one place, rather than having several tabs open at the same time, recreating my post on each account.
In the free version, I can't specify a schedule per platform. Whichever schedule I choose is the same across the board.
Helps keep us from slacking on our posts.
Of all the apps out there for posting to IG, I like Buffer the best. it is easy to use, intuitive and on point. The computer platform is also very easy to navigate. Things are where you'd expect them to be and if you can't find something, or don't know how to do it, the customer service is readily available to help.
If there were a way to have more profiles connected without making a huge jump from $30 to $99, I probably would still be using Buffer for all my needs. I am a tiny agency just starting out. I need to be able to handle different clients without adding extra overhead.
Again, the easy use of IG in the mobile app, by far, outshines any other I've used. If IG would just let third parties post, it would be perfect.
Buffer makes it extremely easy to curate content that is valuable to your audience and then schedule posts ahead of time. It's a great option for small businesses that need assistance creating a more consistent presence on their social media channels.
If you're looking for something that gives you audience insights, need help with social listening or need in-depth reporting, this is not the tool for your business.
As I mentioned above, the tool makes it easy for smaller businesses or brands that need assistance creating a more consistent presence on their social media channels.
I like how easy it makes posting to multiple accounts.
I don’t like how sometimes it is hard to control the way things appear across multiple social media platforms, notably posts with links.
Time-Sacing tool and helps keep on top of staying active across multiple social platforms
How the user interface is very easy to navigate
There are some big limitations such as not being able to customize copy going to a specific platform (i.e. wanting to use hashtags on a twitter post, but not facebook or linkedin without having to do a whole second post creation. The inability to easily locate and share content from outside sources. The analytics are also lacking.
It was my primary scheduler for a long time, now I use it for overflow when I have groups going in excess of the accounts I have on my other software.
I like that I don't have to have my hands in social media constantly.
I wish that it would re-use the posts I take time to put in, instead of trashing them after the initial post happens.
Social media posting - helping to make posts happen all week long without the need to take the time to post every single day
- Ease of use of the interface. You can really, with one person, feed lots of social media channels with a minimal amount of time!
- Lots of key functions in the pro section - Do not use the scheduling of certain social network (like facebook) so you have to commit to buffer all the way
We wanted to centralize our social accounts management and make sure we were following our publication calendar.
I like that Buffer can be integrated into major browsers (Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome. Their app is very user friendly. I can easily schedule post, get insight/analytics and import them into excel.
Buffer can buggy if internet connectivity is sparse which can cause posts to be delayed or corrupt. The app is great if you are on the go. From a usability point of view, Buffer's UI is much better than spout social, and Hootsuite (especially for posting to multiple channels/social media profiles).
I use Buffer for content curation and posting on social media channels for clients.
Scheduling tweets and FB posts for a whole month saves me a lot of time.
Customer support was pretty bad. They tried too hard to upsell us.
It saved me a lot of time on social posting. I used to spend way more time trying to post throughout the week, but scheduling all at once is way faster.
Disclaimer: I've only used the free account, so I can't vouch for the premium options. I like the built-in analytics that Buffer provides and the ability to schedule posts for very specific dates and times. The Chrome extension allows users to quickly grab posts they'd like to share, which is a nice add-on.
I've actually stopped using Buffer simply because the ability to schedule items was bit rigid (again, on the free account). Items automatically popped into the next available time slot, when sometime I'd prefer for them to go to a different slot.

Ideal app for the marketing professional that has a lot to post, but doesn't want to post everything at once. This app lets you schedule your posts, which is very helpful.
For the casual user, it's really not for you. The UI is a little clunky if you ask me. I had a hard time getting started when connecting Facebook, but LinkedIn and twitter worked fine.
