Basecamp has evolved as a project management platform since its launch in 2004 but its mission to help remote teams stay organized, productive, and efficient remains. One new feature that Basecamp recently added is called Basecamp Hill – a visual representation that divides the component of a project into a phase of uncertainty, unknowns, and problem-solving (uphill) and a phase of certainty, confidence, and execution (downhill). This is on top of Basecamp’s core features which include a Message Board, To-dos, Calendar, Documents and Files, Group Chat, and Automated Check-ins. It’s a top-down and bottom-up platform for everyone in a business or organization – from proprietors and C-level executives to project managers and individual team members.

Everything can be sorted the way you want. It is easy to navigate folders by name you can add pictures and of course several people can access its great for clients to communicate with you as well because you can keep record of everything.
There is not much to dislike but maybe updating the app on mobile a little better so it is easier to use.
Keeping track of client emails and responses.
I've use, or at least attempted or tested a few different project management software. Base camp is awesome. not only can you create tasks and to do lists, but you can chat directly thought the program to your team members. THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR!
I don't know. To be honest. I've tested, and used the program. I've brought two teams on it to test it, and I really do not see anything i don't like.
Streamlined communications. The communication functions are literally integrated into the system. All together in one program. this has been something I've been searching for in a program. couldn't be more pleased.
Basecamp has given us the ability to get everyone one on the same page. We can start projects and assign to do jobs. Once the jobs are assigned we can look into the progress and make sure things are getting done.
We paid for the full version so there isn't anything not to like.
We used to organize marketing strategies through emails and written papers. Now we are able to create solid marketing plans in one place where everyone can see what is going on and be accountable for the work they are assigned.
I love how easy it is to use basecamp. It’s really clear and straight forward. Keeps all tasks for you and others organized.
I don’t love that every notification is also sent to your email.
Definitely organization. It has been easy to see who is doing what and setting goals.
My favorite part of basecamp is the tool to build to-do lists and be able to assign out steps to various staff and have them indicate when they are completed. Keeps the whole team on the same page and allows the manager to keep tabs without micromanaging.
I would like the forumns to be a little more transparent in terms of additional comments added, for example a notice that there are "x" amount of new comments on a particular feed with a preview.
Excellent way to boost engagement and culture among staff, especially having remote employees. We are now able to connect on company wide programs, to-do lists, chat around the campfire to discuss topics and member issues, and keep everyone informed of schedule changes and what we are working on.
Having all of your to-dos in one place, organized by due date for each individual user is wonderful. I don’t have to keep track of my various tasks on my own, and I can view my daily, weekly, monthly, and quietly tasks all in one highly organized list.
Filtering out messages could be easier - sometimes messages get lost in the shuffle when you have several going on at once.
Basecamp is essentially our combined project management tool and internal communications tool, and it works wonders to have this all in one place for a small but growing business.
It helps in our research team to follow different projects on a simple web page design. It provides lots of tools for assigning tasks & duties to different members of the team.
The messaging/pinging system can get confusing sometimes. Some of the notifications that should pop up due to receiving messages don't always show up in your e-mail. To solve this, we've also downloaded the app. That way we receive push notifications on our smartphones.
We assign different research projects to different groups in our lab. By using Basecamp, we can track the progress each of us makes on the projects. We can assign projects and the completion dates to individuals and if there should be any changes, we can edit them very easily on the assigned page. We can also see our progress on charts so that makes Basecamp very useful.
Basecamp has been essential for my team and me to communicate. Its ease of use is better than any platform my team and I have used. We have used slack, and asana, etc but nothing compares to having everything in one place like basecamp.
The only thing I didn't like about basecamp was the transition period for moving everything over. Once everything was moved over, it was simplistic.
I have been able to put all the files my company uses into one spot. Instead of having to go to asana, then google drive, etc everything is right there. It also allows us to communicate effectively with our clients instead of having to message them via email.
We are now able to keep the entire company on the same page. With Basecamp we are able to use the headquarters feature to communicate with all of our staff. We can post new messages, bulletins, pictures and photos that they will all need to see in reference. We are also able to start new projects that are marketing and sales team can work on together throughout the duration of the project. We are able to assign job functions and task and give due dates for those tasks to be completed. We are also able to check in on each task to make sure it is completed within the time needed giving complete accountability.
Something we do not like is the template for new projects. You’re able to create task to the templates however you cannot automatically add a person to that task. So if you have a recurring project with recurring people doing the same recurring task you have to assign that person every time to the project which can be repetitive. It would be great if this was automated.
The problems we,re solving now is we do not have to use physical paper and emails to communicate for sales and marketing projects. Now we are able to use Basecamp not only to keep everyone on the same page but to keep projects and workflow going seamlessly and efficiently as possible
It made the process for new hires to go through the steps and finished required training
Sometimes the platform can be confusing for new hites.
Being able to streamline hiring reps
I like how the system is designed to provide feedback and comment on any projects that you have working on. We assign tasks to each other and comment on signs of progress or completion.
I believe that the user interface could use an overhaul, even though I still like its functionality.
We work on different campaigns on my company and it is of utmost importance that we have a way to keep track on what we do and what we are missing.
I like the overall user interface and some of the features, including the graph that visualizes where you are on certain projects. Great for sharing with superiors.
I don't have any real dislikes. I think there is room for improvement with non-profit and educational use, but other than that - it's been great.
We use basecamp to, for the most part, communicate and coordinate across multiple departments on campus for various events and activities. It really helps keep individual contributors on track and accountable for what they're responsible for in the process.
The user interface of Basecamp has drastically changed over the years. This application has become much easier for novice individuals to use. In my opinion, it is one of the easiest tools to learn and the benefits that it provides are countless. Project management has become much easier. In my opinion time, tracking and progress checking features are the most beloved features.
There is nothing that I dislike about this tool. I think it would be great to include more complex features such as sophisticated functions and etc. Also, I would love to sort specific projects by certain keywords, this would be great for everyone who has a lot of ongoing projects.
In my line of work, Basecamp is commonly used to divide and assign tasks. This saves time for everyone and increases the efficiency of employees.
There are so many features that are so beneficial to my team and my organization. I love the fact that we can communicate within the app either on a board or a "fireside" chat. This is great when sharing files and asking for clarification on tasks. I also love the checkoff list that can be assigned to everyone. As an admin, I can see what "everyone is up to." While we use this app for education, it could easily be used for other markets to keep efficent records of task oriented things. We also keep all of our files on the cloud so that we can access them anywhere!
There really are not many things that we don't like about Basecamp. The hardest part of the entire process was learning to use the program. It takes a little getting used to, but overall it was a very mild learning curve, compared to other systems that I have tried. Inviting other users and developing groups within the program is great.
We used Basecamp to help simplify our lives and the fact that we were so spread out trying to manage everything. Admins are able to communicate within the app so that everyone is able stay on the same page. For our educational program, it has helped us streamline where we save documents and allowed us to track productivity. This helps us stay focused and moving without bogging down. We are able to set up different teams and customize each one. As an admin I am in all of them so that I can see what everyone is up to and identify any potential problems.
I like that this project management tool kept it easy to assign work to colleagues, and see what others were assigning to me. It was a one-stop-shop for getting our work done in a timely manner, and a place where everything could be kept very easily.
It's yet another thing to check. Between email, phone, calendar, our donor database... it's just another thing to stay on top of. However, the emails when something shifted or changed, were good reminders to go back and check our project plan.
We needed a better way to track our progress on all of the marketing materials needed for our Gala. This took us away from an excel spreadsheet and put us in a new, easy-to-use space.
LA FORMA DE CREAR PROYECTOS PARA CONOCER CADA ASPECTO DE NUESTROS SISTEMAS USADOS EN LA ORGANIZACION.
NO BRINDA FACILIDAD PARA TRABAJAR NI PARA CREAR TABLEROS. SE REQUIERE DE MUCHO ESTUDIO.
FACILITAMOS CADA PROCESO PARA AFIANZAR MAS LA CARGA DE LOS SISTEMAS QUE LLEVAMOS COMO MEDIDAS DE CONTROL.
Basecamp is fast and easy to use, everything can be placed in one area or you can place items in multi areas
At times depending on how many projects and folders you have, you can forget where you placed items.
Basecamp solves the issue have working with multi people on the same projects with everyone being on the same page of changes.
Basecamp seemed to me to be an effective marketing management tool as it allows us the possibility of accessing each of our projects and favours the fact that it allows us a fluid flow of information between users.
To tell the truth, it is little or nothing that I question to Basecamp since it has been of great utility. As time goes by, all software is updated and improved, the same should happen with basecamp, because in my opinion, this software should operate without the need for Internet access.
Something we have been able to solve is the time factor. With the good use of this tool, the exchange of information can be done in real time, all the issues related to the projects in execution, even if we participate in different places.
I love that Basecamp is a one stop shop for all our team needs to send messages, files, manage projects, share results, and bring our team together online.
I only have one issue with Basecamp and it's in the weeds of setting up a to-do list. There is no option for setting up a weekly or monthly or daily recurring to-do and I have a lot of those. It would be helpful to be able to add this type of task on the list and then set it up as recurring instead of having to continually add it to a daily list.
Basecamp has brought better efficiency within our team as it acts as the main portal to communication and messaging instead of working through a long list of emails.
