Considered one of the pioneering cloud-based project management tools, Asana offers four views for its users – List View, Timeline, Calendar, and Boards – all of which help teams get both a macro and micro view of all the moving parts of projects and tasks. It provides a comprehensive roadmap of ongoing projects from start to finish, clearly outlining dependencies, project milestones, and feedback and approval processes. For project managers, strong reporting capabilities that show completion rates, individual workloads, and potential delays just to name a few create opportunities for real-time project optimization, collaboration, stronger forecasting, and better planning for future similar projects.

Asana allows me to assign tasks to my team and the Simple UI offered by the app helps me stay on top of it. With an effective way to prioritize the tasks listed, Asana helps me in havin a 50000 ft level view of my tasks along with letting me keeping an eye on intricacies of those tasks as well.
It's hard to keep track of sub-tasks within the tasks created. Also, if I delete a task(s) accidentally, it's hard to retain the deleted tasks. It took me quite some time to recover the tasks....gave me quite a scare!
Asana has helped me manage daily tasks with my team. I handle multiple projects within my organization with multiple team members. Asana helps me by providing a summary of the tasks that I've assigned to my team members and lets me get a quick view on their statuses.
You can keep your eyes on the projects and get immediate feedbacks about every little tasks. You can help for that college that really needs the help and you can give the resources for those who needs for that.
Honestly, nothing. I prefer Asana over Trello.
We can see how projects goes and adjust the resources accordingly.
I like the ability to customize your dashboard and all the extras. You can set is so that cool, whimsical animals streak across the screen occasionally when you mark a task as complete. It's surprisingly rewarding.
I'd like more control over some of the sub-categories in the "my tasks" area to make tasks better organized. I'd also like more customization of the types notifications to receive via email.
It's greatly helped my task and time management. It's helped us a lot with assigning tasks to our interns as well.
Asana is so easy to use and it's a breeze to create tasks, assign tasks, reorganize tasks, etc
I dislike how you can't choose which buttons are the most easily accessible (ie: I never need the link button, but always use the tags button, which is in a different menu)
Some of my coworkers are really disorganized and would try to just remember things they needed to get done, which never worked well. Now that we use Asana though, we have been able to keep everyone on track and organized! This has been a HUGE help to the organization of the company as a whole.
What I like most is the design of the application, practically without having used it you never know what you have to do to create a project and follow it up. In addition, the interaction between users is great to be able to work together on the same project in a very interactive way.
There is nothing I don't like, this program has pleasantly surprised me and now our company works better.
Thanks to Asana the organization of projects in our company begins to work properly, with the management of tasks in the projects and the possibility of adding involved and commenting on updates in the same project, there is no longer a forgotten or delayed task.
Asana is great to organize a comapny and its projects. Great use of Multiable organizations and projects within them. Task tracking is great with comments and task statuses. Ability to switch a project into a board instead of a list is also a massive plus. The intergration with outside tools like git and slack is also a very big plus.
It can be over complecated and very daunting to new users. If you start a Asana organization from scratch you wont have this problem. But if you are introduced to a slack that has been used for years its can take alot of time to get used to it.
Asana is there to solve core issues of our company. We use it for clients ptojects to scope out the work and assign tasks. We also use it to keep track of company polices and accounting. Basically it can store and record every thing you need to do in a company and can be used by every single employee.
Each project is listed, with each task that is needed. We are able to set up templates and copy those for projects that have like tasks, but yet, we can add in new tasks or adjust or change after we copy the template. Overall Asana provides us with a lot of options for all the project we work on for all our clients.
At this time, I really don't have anything I don't like. We've been using it company wide for over a month and it has helped us to stay more on top of our projects, but seeing our "My Tasks" tab which also provides you with a way to organize and categorize the tasks that is listed specifically for you.
Complete tasks on time. Assign tasks to team members to ensure that a step or task is not missed during our project scope for what we've agreed to complete for clients. We also use Asana with our clients, and to date, it's working nicely to give them the inner view of how the project is proceeding, which we update them each week with a weekly report, but they can check Asana whenever they'd like as well.
Asana is user friendly, fast and accurate
Maybe it can be simplified for first time users
Project management and mainly communicaions, it makes communicating with peers and colleagues as well as clients so much efficient and effective
Awesome calendar view with tasks. It's like in google calendar, but more user friendly, useful and cute. Also powerful feature - repeat tasks. I have a lot of tasks like pay taxes, check advert, which repeat every few month, days, years.
Everything is ok in Asana. I wanted calendar view on mobile devices, but they did it few month ago.
I am organizing my work flow like a freelancer. Also using it when working on a projects with a small team.
I love the organization in Asana and how easy it is to create projects with team members, tasks, timelines, and invite clients in to collaborate with us. The task list makes it super easy to see how your day/week looks and makes you feel accomplished when you can check something off.
Conversations get lost sometimes in the news feed. When several people are collaborating on a project it's sometimes hard to loop the third person into a conversation since it can only be assigned to one person at a time. It'd be great to be able to assign one task to multiple people rather than assign a copy so that several people can be included in the alerts.
Organization of project time lines and people's to do lists. We also introduce bigger clients to asana to work with us in the software and they love it. They have the capability to be involved in the project and see progress as we work on it. It helps alleviate email and make sure that projects are not falling through the cracks. It is also a great communication tool for leadership in the company to keep ongoing private notes and remind ourselves of important things on a monthly/weekly basis if needed.
easy to use and can be used across cross functional teams for management
The User experiences can be used to improve the ui
Customer success
Asana is such a helpful tool. I absolutely love the usability of it, and all of the tools that come with one simple system. Asana is incredibly helpful, especially when a group of people are all working on a similar project or working together. It is really easy to assign and track tasks, build projects, and keep everything organized in one clear place.
The only thing I think is hard to do with Asana is ensure that you get notifications for everything and sometimes when you mark one thing off a list, I found that others would disappear but I wasn't sure why.
The major business problem that we solved by using Asana was the management of tasks. Before using Asana, tasks and projects would get lost and there would be little way of knowing who was working on what project. Once we started using Asana, there was no question who was working on a project and what stage that project was in.
I liked the versatility of the product. It is robust in features and integrations allowing for great flexibility with any type of workflow.
I found the product to be better than I expected.
The flexibility in assigning tasks and due dates is great for keeping an organized workflow. The subtasks also allows for the creation of simple projects within a task.
Asana has been a game changer in my business, I don't know what I'd do without it. You can organize so many projects at once, I always know what to work on.
The tasks list look daunting when compiled
Productivity! Always know what you're working on next
The ability to easily create, assign and prioritise tasks for a project, as well as being able to create subtasks and mark dependencies is very helpful. The conversations view allows basic email tracking to log communications with clients, which is incredibly helpful. And although still basic, the Timeline view gives a good overview of a gantt chart view.
Reporting is quite weak, your currently can't report on subtasks which are important to how we manage our current projects.
All our companies Projects are managed through Asana. This allows us to organise and plan out our current a future workloads. It also allows us to easily provide customers with updates based on the progress of their project and any tasks outstanding. We have multiple projects that follow the same process, with a lot of duplicate tasks and a few specific to that project. We can use the template feature to recreate these projects and update the specific tasks as necessary. The integration with Instagantt is also very helpful allowing us to update Asana timelines and view them in a Gantt chart, and calculate individual or team workloads.
I love their super slick web app, everything works better than expected. Love the ability to mention other members of the team, have lists/sublists. The text editor works great, emoji shortcuts, lots of shortcuts for doing whatever you want... Ability to select multiple items with Shift+Click and assign them at once... They also have a great API for custom integration.
I really have nothing bad to say about Asana, they're a great service.
Asana helps us keep track of all our assignments, big projects, or small to-do's, Asana is great!
Asana is the best project management tool I've used for teams. It's easy to get set up and the learning curve is small.
More and more features are being reserved for premium members.
I communicate action items with my coaching clients here. It's amazing!
Great way to organize project management. I like how they are constantly iterating and adding new valuable features. I also like that they have a few different styles of project organization.
I don't like that they don't have a native application for Mac. Using it in a browser tab is a pain because I often lose where the browser window is. Also, I'd love to have a menu bar app that I could use to quickly add tasks to projects without having to dive into the web app (similar to Harvest in a sense).
Using it to organize projects so we can track progress and make sure nothing falls through the cracks, and to communicate project progress to relvant parties.
I like that there are so many ways to use it. I love having project boards, as well as task lists. It makes it super easy to stay organized and map/plan everything out. I've used it for complex multi-phase projects and simple tasks as well. I particularly love that you can set a recurring task that gives you a reminder at the interval you set. I also love that you can keep your systems and processes outlined in an easy to view place for everyone on your team. It's also very user friendly so you can get started without a huge learning curve.
It has so many features that I don't know about and don't have the time to watch tutorials. I'm sure it's more powerful than I know but haven't been able to tap into it.
My plans and ideas were all over the place and tasks would slip through the cracks. It's definitely the tool I turn to when I have a big project with lots of moving pieces. Asana helps me keep everything on track and it frees up my mind since I have everything written out in an organized place. It also makes it really easy to assign projects and due dates. I can coordinate with my VA without having to get on a call very often. It's great!!
It's so easy to get started setting up projects and the multiple view options help me stay on top of my tasks (I'm very visual). It's useful whether you're the only one using it or a whole team.
Can't think of anything I dislike so far
Shared task lists - it's been difficult because some of our team members are not tech saavy and they have a difficult time, but anyone who's used to using a web app of any kind picks it up quickly. It keeps us organized and makes sure that we make progress on our projects.
