"Sanity enabled us to dial up our velocity to 11 with maximum ease and a value to match"
What do you like best about Sanity?

Sanity enabled us to dial up our velocity to 11 with maximum ease and a value to match. The ship of engineers, designers, editors, and stakeholders has never sailed so fast. Sanity is 100% apart of our Developer Workflow. It's incredibly common that the most expensive part of the product shipping process is the hourly Engineer. Sanity is here to save time and money on a companies most expensive link in the chain. Beyond this, their staff is super dedicated and always listening to feedback. I wouldn't have it any other way. I feel a real partnership between us, versus a customer. You don't have to enter a marriage between your code and the CMS. You can offload small bits over time and let it snowball, thus trialing Sanity is a piece of cake. Since the entire CMS interface is code-based, you can alter it to be anything you want, tailored perfectly for your content editors. It's data storage structure is built with a FE Framework in mind (it'll work with literally anything). There's no storing of HTML, thus there's no parsing of HTML into React components for example, only JSON, which is insanely easy using their plugin's. You can write custom storage blocks to match all your components from your Design System. It has honestly taken us from launching a site in weeks time, to 15 minutes. If you're not using Sanity, you're missing out on something really special. The internet is going to be moving away from WordPress, and onto Sanity. Be apart of something big. Our tech stack is Next.js + Sanity + Typescript. Sanity is equally as important as our FE Framework selection. It does not get better than this. The right product built by the right people.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

Searching the docs can be tedious, but it's improving everyday, so it's hardly a reason to shy away from using the product.

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

Time to market! Choo choo, there's no brakes on this train! And minimizing expensive Engineering resources. We've even setup sanity to handle vanity url redirects and file uploading. Small wins like that really add up. We're also able to lazy-load all our images perfectly, going from a low-res image (generated by the Sanity edge servers) to a high quality image. It's kind of mind blowing how fast our sites are becoming, and if it wasn't for 3rd party JS, our Lighthouse scores are now int he 98+ range across the board.

"A Great Headless CMS with a Ton of Customization Options"
What do you like best about Sanity?

The clutter-free editing environment is the first thing to notice on Sanity. Sanity also offers excellent pricing and a generous usage quota. Its competitors like Strapi or Ghost charge a lot more or lack features like deploying the studio to the cloud for free.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

Nothing till now. The only thing they could have added to the free plan is the Review changes option for like fifteen days would have been great. Currently, they offer seven days.

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

I am hosting my personal blog with Sanity. Other solutions require me to deploy to my cloud instance or use the cloud option they provide for a lot heavier price. Whereas I can deploy my Sanity studio for free with a single command line, and Sanity will take care of the rest.

"Easily my preferred option when considering CMS and structured data solutions"
What do you like best about Sanity?

Sanity, for me, has the perfect mix of being easy to get up and running with, whilst being super powerful and having deep customisation options. Being able to create entirely custom content models is wonderful but, more than that, the ability to create custom input components to modify the editing experience takes it a step further. I've never met a client who can't get to grips with editing content withing Sanity Studio within a few minutes, and that is essential for me

What do you dislike about Sanity?

There really isn't a lot for me to say here, to be honest. I would have commented about scaling costs for editors, but Sanity recently took care of that by including unlimited admin users on all plans, which is simply incredible value.

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

I've used Sanity as a WYSIWYG page builder, a cost and specification engine for a quote builder, and a real-time multi-user voting application for an in-person event. Spin-up time is certainly a huge benefit, as getting a simple schema up and running is really quick, especially once you have done it once or twice before. The flexibility of being able to run everything through the studio, or through a thoroughly documented API, or a combination of the two, is a huge plus, and the real-time streaming API is certainly useful in the right applications. Mostly though, for me the primary benefit is in content modelling: not being tied into a set format and being able to customise the content model easily for each content type helps think about content in new ways, rather than just thinking in terms of pages of a website or brochure.

"Flexible and Reliable"
What do you like best about Sanity?

Sanity's flexibility, Interoperabiliy and reliability is what I value most about this CMS

What do you dislike about Sanity?

The studio interface is a bit basic/hard for inexperienced editor users. The charges per user are a bit high. Could offer a discount for a large number of users.

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

The need for powerful, flexible CMS for many editors with the capacity to control core content for our high traffic sites

"Finally I feel that I control content and that content doesn't control me"
What do you like best about Sanity?

Sanity makes it super simple to define my content structure in an amazing way. Love being able to control and define the content through schemas. The GROQ query language support it's absolutely amazing.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

Make migrations easier. Being in a startup, we are changing a lot of our structures continuously, and sometimes it feels hard to change structures and fill data. It would be awesome to have nested filtering as well.

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

Pfff.. Lots!! Now we are able to give our product team a nice tool that they can use to update content instead of open issues for use. Also, it makes our application way faster, and being able to manage content per client it's absolutely amazing. Also, translation support has been wonderful. We are able now not just to handle translations but even give our clients specific configurations to make our solution feel like theirs.

"Sanity Studio: A Flexible And Developer-Friendly CMS"
What do you like best about Sanity?

Studio excels in providing an intuitive and user-friendly content management system. Creating, editing, and organizing content is a breeze, thanks to its clean and well-organized interface. I particularly appreciated the drag-and-drop functionality, which made it easy to rearrange content elements effortlessly. Sanity Studio's version control and content history features are robust. It allows you to track changes, revert to previous versions, and see who made what modifications. This feature is invaluable for maintaining content accuracy and accountability.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

While Sanity Studio is generally user-friendly, it does have a bit of a learning curve, especially for beginners. Setting up custom schemas and understanding the inner workings of the platform can be challenging initially. Improved onboarding resources or tutorials could mitigate this issue. The pricing structure for Sanity Studio may not be ideal for everyone. It can become costly, especially for larger projects or organizations with high data volumes. It would be beneficial if there were more affordable plans or flexible pricing options to accommodate a wider range of users.

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

The marketing team's ability to autonomously and regularly refresh our website content, without having to rely on developers for text updates.

"Great product, very good for our new site"
What do you like best about Sanity?

I like the pricing model, I use to be with contentful but the pricing model is so much better with sanity.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

the language can be a but of a challenge to get your head around but once you have it becomes a bit easier

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

I'm using it as a sort of backend for our blog posts, the benefits that I have realised is once you know it feels very easy to add blog posts

"Easy to use and extend, great community"
What do you like best about Sanity?

Easy to get started with schemas and content. No need to setup your own server, database, cdn. Very helpful and nice community and employees makes asking questions a nice experience.

What do you dislike about Sanity?

Would like more fine-grained control over permissions, for instance some private documents in the same database. The groq syntax can get messy when I use references, for instance I use internal links several places and I feel I have to nest in far to get it working. The studio feels sluggish at times. I've had some problems creating custom plugins, and I feel the documentation is a bit lacking in that part. Might be better in v3 though.

What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?

Hosting data for my websites, both professional and personal. Easy to get up and running because I don't have to set up a server etc. Easy to collaborate with others about the content.
