n8n is the best backend no-code platform I have used so far in many years.
Not enough advanced examples, maybe, even though any developer can easily extend the flow with JS Code anywhere in a flow and solve most limitations if any.
Capture destinations for Uber driver.
All iPaaS have appealing offerings. I've used several, but none of them provide the On-Premise solution that 8n8 does. This feature allows you to download the tool and integrate it into your private network. I'd argue that this is one of the best features 8n8 has to offer.
Still in love with n8n, I'd want to see improvements in documentation, examples, and more tutorials to grasp its nomenclature. 8n8 offers a lot of wonderful resources, but I'd like to see more and more.
I had a local Excel file with sensitive information, so I downloaded the On-Premise version and did an integration using the HTTP Module to send a post from my Excel file to an in-house developed system, which saved a lot of time for the people who had to fill out the Excel and the department that was in charge of manually entering data from the Excel to the in-house system.
If you've ever used a system like Zapier, then you're going to love N8n. It's intuitive drag and drop interface makes creating custom automations an absolute breeze.
Because the product is still new, there are still many things that require a knowledge of JavaScript to make work. For example, if you want to generate the time and day, you need to create a custom function to do that. That is quickly changing however as the community is constantly adding new features to make the coding process easy.
Automating my companies manual processes and connecting different tools so they natively work together (for example connecting Calendly to jira so customers can submit a Calendly request that automatically creates a jira issue).
I like how easy it is to set up automated actions using n8n. You can create simple to complex workflows using the wide variety of nodes available. I also like that we can self-host it as our automation tool.
Initially, I was looking for a user management feature where multiple users can login to the app and have limited access to their own workflows. This took a while to get added as a feature but I think the most recent release already added this.
In my use case, I use n8n as an alerting tool to inform me if users have done a certain action on an internal tool we built using other cloud tools. The main benefit of this is we're able to build monitoring into our internal tools and saves us time from manually checking it ourselves regularly.
