Administrator Dashboard is good and equipped with almost all features needed to manage the hosting. Security wise it feels safe as of now and backup feature works great.
The performance of the wordpress site in terms of speed (particularly FCP) has major issues. I tested the performance without any plugins, just bare metal kind of scenario and still it failed the Google Page Speed test miserably. Under the hood the server specs does not seem to be optimized for wordpress use case. Also, the lack of telephone customer support is a little annoying. Support is provided majorly via Web-chat or email only. Now for extra premium Kinsta charges such basic things are expected to be included in the services they provide.
As of now I do not find Kinsta is solving anything in terms of wordpress hosting that has not been solved before. It is a decent but pricier wordpress hosting service. In terms of benefit to me, I feel I am at a little loss right now, because for USD 41/month a basic wordpress hosting does not work very well for me. Given I am a full stack developer myself, I know I can accomplish all the provided features myself in USD 13.7 /month. Its just that I have been too much busy with my other projects and did not actually get time to spinup my own server and host everything there. Effectively I am paying USD 27.3 /month extra (for no additional benefits and just scarcity of my time) to Kinsta. I genuinely recommend Kinsta to review their pricing structure. As of now compared to competition, they lag big time.
Kinsta has hit the perfect pitch for us, as previously our websites had either been on cheap, slow and frustrating hosting, or were costing more than their revenues justified on the likes of AWS or WPEngine. Not only was the price/speed of Kinsta ideal, but the ease-of-use of the service has been a revelation. Support has been great, and everything has just worked, which is important when you don't have a dedicated IT function at a small company. By far the best hosting solution of any tried through the years.
I've yet to find a major problem. Had a couple of issues with a migration but support ironed those out swiftly, so what felt like a potential negative ended up being a positive experience - especially when compared to previous experiences elsewhere!
Affordable but blazing fast hosting for small publishing sites. Improved set of tools such as easy staging area also a real bonus for us, and now the Cloudflare CDN too, so it feels like constant added value.
I chose Kinsta because i wanted to focus on my business and site not the hassle of hosting and supporting the minutiae of wordpress. From sign up to use Kinsta has fulfilled this purpose. As a software developer with years of experience I found the transfer and magration process relatively straightforward. Unsafe plugins were identified which my previous host never highlighted and the admininstration panels cover what i really want. Previously they were just a mish mash of what was available at the time. My site preformance instantly improved and has been solidly reliable since migration. The problems with my site that were highlighted during migration proved to me that the support staff know what they are doing and have made the process of making wordpress content so much easier. The articles they have on wordpress and other areas are also continaully helpful and feel like they are written by people who understand the challenges I am fancing. They have introduced my to like minded companies that create more value than they charge for and reflects the experience I have had with Kinsta since joining 8 months ago.
To acheive the standards and focus Kinsta have they do not support things like domain or email hosting. I understand why and it shows in their results and costs but in terms of migration to them it was a challenge initially. Though they provided clear guidance which introduced me to a better long term platform for my business. The same is true for plugins and their approach to server resources. I agree with their choices which ensure each site is a good neighbour to the other and not hogging resources. The challenge though is that I then have to look for replacement options for the plugins that solved certain problems for me. If that is what is needed for a fast, stable and secure site I can live with it but it is a pain and something I have to accept
As a software developer I tend to get caught up developing and supporting my site instead of building the business it serves. With Kinsta I have been able to move from a focus on hosting to a focus on content production, promotion and all the other issues I need to consider. The move to headless is of interest to me and I can see that the transition process is well documented at kinsta. Though I am not yet sure if I will have to purchase a separate application developer package or be able to use my wordpress hosting to develop small items to run on the site using data from the headless setup. At other hosts i know that would be possible but it is not clear to me if I can at Kinsta
Kinsta has been a rewarding discovery. I've been with them for almost two years now and if you're in search of a hosting service that excels in providing quality customer service and solid stability, I believe Kinsta could be an ideal choice for you. My experience since migrating my website to Kinsta has been positive. The process was agile and straightforward. I greatly appreciated the constant availability of their technical support team, who guided me every step of the way and resolved my doubts. Their effectiveness in responding quickly showed me a genuine commitment to ensuring that my site was online without any hitches. In terms of stability, Kinsta has proven to be reliable. Since the switch, I've noticed an improvement in the performance of my site. Pages load quickly, which has enhanced the experience for users. I would also like to highlight Kinsta's support team. Their treatment has always been friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Their clear and detailed responses give me confidence that my site is in the hands of experts. They've never made me feel like my questions are insignificant, which speaks well of the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. Being with them for almost two years now, I can confidently say that their consistent service quality is noteworthy.
Finding faults with Kinsta is a tough task. If I had to name one aspect that may not sit well with some, it would be the pricing. It's true that Kinsta's pricing may be a bit higher compared to some competitors in the market. However, I firmly believe that the exceptional quality of service, reliability, and superior customer support justify this premium. The peace of mind I've gained
Before discovering Kinsta, my journey with hosting providers felt like an uphill battle. I hopped from one to another, constantly encountering performance issues that resulted in However, since making the switch to Kinsta, I've experienced nothing but smooth sailing. The persistent performance issues that plagued my previous hosting experiences have become a thing of the past. With Kinsta, my site runs like a well-oiled machine. Pages load quickly, downtime is almost non-existent, and the overall user experience has been significantly improved. What's more, I no longer feel like I'm navigating the complex world of web hosting alone. With Kinsta, I know that a dedicated, knowledgeable, and friendly support team is just a quick message away. They've been there to assist me every step of the way, quickly resolving any questions or issues that arise. The peace of mind I've gained is invaluable. While Kinsta's pricing might be a little higher than some competitors, the value for money I've received is unparalleled. No more performance problems, no more headaches - just reliable, high-quality hosting backed by a superb support team. Making the switch to Kinsta has been one of the best decisions I've made in my hosting journey. I wholeheartedly recommend Kinsta to anyone seeking a worry-free hosting experience.
The platform is container-based and developer friendly - fast SSH access and database access permit a number of possible custom deployment scenarios. For teams trying to implement best practices from software development, Kinsta has proved to be the most flexible solution.
Like with any managed host, there are restrictions on what you can and can't do with the platform - for example, some plugins are banned because they're too resource-intensive. I'm also not a fan of the pricing for add-on services like Redis and ElasticSearch, which seems out of line with the pricing for their core offering.
Hosting for hundreds of WordPress websites. Their custom pricing for agency customers is flexible and delivers an impressive cost-to-site ratio. Their platform supports a large part of our digital business and has over-delivered on promises made in the sales process.
They have experts to answer questions. It is not just an outsourced call center. I am only moderately tech literate, and they allowed me to integrate from another CMS on my own with their help. Very easy. User friendly platform.
I struggle to find a negative. I was hesitant to pay the price initially. But I signed up for one month. It scored much higher on Google Developer speed test. I think in the future, it will be interesting to see the price when I start to hit some of the limits of bandwidth. Sometimes I question the number of unique visits compared to Google Analytics but it has not been an issue because I am within my bandwidth.
Kinsta is a great value for the money. You are going to pay more than other hosting products most likely. But they are the fastest I have found. For comparable speed on competitor's hosting it would be more expensive. I have a website with a pretty heavy load.
Kinsta helped me by moving 17 websites fron Godaddy and Bluehost over to them. Our client are so happy with the speed increase and we're living the security and peace of mind Kinsta offers. I highly recommend them for your hosting needs. Their customer service is great too!
It would be great if they were a bit lower in price but the service and quality somewhat justify their costs. Update (2/25/23): I changed kinsta's score from 9 to a 10. I believe that they are worth the extra cost. They have, over the past 8 months, delivered amazing customer service and helped with any bumps in the road. Their security automatically detected and removed malware from one of my sites. They were even helpful in moving one of my many sites to a different host. They've come through time and time again and I couldn't recommend them more highly!
They keep my customers and me happy by providing fast loading website hosting that is secure and full featured. I have saved so many hours of waiting on customer support by hiring Kinsta.
The overall value for agencies, developers and our clients is huge. Kinsta is the default hosting option for all WordPress sites that we build. Our favorite things: - Excellent server/site performance - Fantastic custom control panel and developer tools - Takes care of critical issues we don't want to spend our time on and/or complicate WP installs with a bunch of extra Plugins -- especially for most WP-based marketing sites (e.g., WP security, server security, firewalls, server-side caching, backups, transactional email, etc.) - Solid technical support Bonus: it even handles sites that we thought may not perform well, because they are resource-intensive sites. Kinsta seems to have it figured out though.
Extra billing based on traffic. This is a nitpick for sure. This is only a "dislike" because it can be a difficult sell to (some) clients. From a developer perspective, I understand the need to charge sites based on usage (and this is how Google Cloud would be charging Kinsta). And... it seems that Kinsta handles this really well as far as how they notify clients, add extra fees, etc. This could be a really tough operational task when it comes to customer happiness and I'm not sure what I would do to make it better.
Hosting WP-based marketing sites on Kinsta drives hosting-related maintenance issues down close to zero. This is a huge benefit for us as developers and our clients.
