Integrations: One of the primary pain points I've experienced with Riverside.fm is the apparent lack of comprehensive integrations, especially with renowned editing software like Final Cut Pro. While the platform itself provides excellent recording capabilities, the workflow is hindered when it's time to transition to post-production stages, particularly for those teams reliant on Final Cut Pro. An integration here would undoubtedly streamline the entire process, reducing time-consuming workarounds and potential quality degradation when importing/exporting. Price: Another significant concern lies in the platform's pricing model. While the baseline $49 per month offers good value for individuals or small creators, the leap to $400 for additional users or managers feels excessive. Organizations, particularly those operating with tighter budgets, may find this jump hard to justify. For teams that require collaboration between multiple roles – such as an editor, a project manager, and an admin – this pricing structure becomes a bottleneck. It’s not only about the financial aspect but also the inability to have an integrated workflow with all relevant stakeholders having platform access. Improvement: Understanding that Riverside.fm aims to cater to a broad range of users, from solo podcasters to larger organizations, a more flexible pricing structure is essential. I propose the introduction of intermediary plans, particularly focused on team collaboration. A plan that offers at least three seats for critical roles like the editor, project manager, and admin would be a welcome addition. Such a tiered approach would make the platform more accessible and appealing to medium-sized teams, ensuring that everyone necessary for a project's success can contribute efficiently without breaking the bank.
Riverside excels at streamlining podcast hosting, yet falls short in integrating with tools like Calendly for automated guest invites and offering affordable multi-user access for cohesive team collaboration.
Riverside is so simple to use it allows guests and presenters to work together super easily, and the benefits of being able to edit online and have a large amount of storage is great
The slight downside of riverside is the cost, for small people it is a bit costly but I understand why the price is the way it is
Riverside is solving not having a collaborative space to work and host and continually store past recordings
Riverside is simple to use and genuinely fair it what it provides at all price points. It will be a staple in how I operate from this point forward. I have already recommended the app to several people.
There is only one feature I wish it had, and that's the ability for people to watch replays on the app exclusively, which is more like a Vimeo function. Having to download the videos to publish them elsewhere is fine, and helpful that Riverside isn't trying to function as a social media app, but there is definitely a benefit to having the option for the content stay local to Riverside.
It is a simple solutiong to hosting calls, performing consultations, and podcast or workshop content. It helped me create a system that makes serving my clients and small audience less of a strain. This makes me more productive and able to achieve more in my journey.
Riverside enables high-quality video recordings independent of client upload speeds. The format is more conducive to creating editable content than Zoom or other conference recording apps.
The leap in cost from a pro account to a business account is difficult to get support for internally due to a 16X price hike without gaining 16x in features.
Riverside turns the remote recording into a professional studio environment with the best possible video recording quality. The platform removes the feeling that the subject is on a typical conference call where they may be tempted to look away or not pay as much attention to guidance.
I recently had the pleasure of using Riverside.fm, and I must say that it exceeded my expectations in every way possible. This platform truly stands out as a game-changer in the world of podcasting and remote recording. First and foremost, the audio and video quality provided by Riverside.fm is nothing short of outstanding. As a content creator, I've often struggled with finding a reliable platform that can capture clear and crisp audio and video during remote recordings. However, Riverside.fm's advanced technology ensures that my recordings are of the highest quality, making the editing process much smoother and the end result more professional. The user interface of Riverside.fm is intuitive and user-friendly. Setting up a recording session is a breeze, and the platform offers a range of customization options, allowing me to tailor the recording experience to my specific needs. The ability to schedule recordings, send guests invitations, and manage recordings all in one place has streamlined my podcasting workflow significantly.
The pricing structure seemed straightforward on the surface, but as soon as I subscribed and started using their services, hidden fees and extra charges started popping up out of nowhere.
By recording locally on each participant's end and then syncing the audio and video streams, it mitigates the risks associated with dropped calls or audio/video synchronization issues, providing more stable recordings.
We at Curiosity Continuum home grew our podcast from humble beginnings, figuring out how to make it work in bootstrap fashion. Riverside is the first platform we decided to pay for to help us at the recommendation of a trusted colleague who had used Riverside for years. What a difference. We have cut our post production time dramatically and recording and syncing is easy. Transcriptions are strong. You get a lot of creative leverage out of this platfom. We have been podcasting for years, and this elevated our production game.
Not a downside per se, but more of something Riverside should warn you about. We get charged foreign transaction fees for our payment, which after I was told that the company uses a place in the Netherlands (I think!) for their processing worldwide, that made sense. However, I wasn't expecting the charge. Some more overt messages and warnings about this would be helpful to the customer.
Eficiencies in post prodution dramatic, cutting out at least 60% edit time. Great at syncing audio over wonky internet connections, which saved sync in post production. Guests can easily join and it makes it more turnkey ready for such things. We are experienced podcasters and this made our workflow much easier.
Riverside is incredibly easy to use, cost-effective, and produces high-quality recordings. We record routinely with older guests who aren't super tech-savvy, but they've had no issues logging in and getting connected. I'm a huge fan of this platform and all of the features it has to offer!
Honestly, there's not much I dislike here. We've occasionally had some issues with guest audio/video not uploading quickly after the recording finishes, but Riverside makes it easy for guests to go back to a link after they leave the studio to finish uploading at a later time.
Before finding Riverside, our team had struggled to find a consistent way to record high-quality podcasts. We had used Zoom, but the quality was just abysmal. Downloading and uploading recordings was difficult, and our editors had to spend forever cleaning up the audio. We couldn't even release video of the recordings because it was unusable. After we switched to Riverside, we were blown away by the difference in quality and ease of use.
I am very impresses with how well riverside works. As a podcaster recording internationally, it has always functioned well!
The cost... I am an undergraduate student learning from physicians about mission medicine and the price I pay to use this platform is a little steep...
None that I am aware of.
