The most helpful feature of QuickBooks Desktop Pro is that it is very flexible. It is easy to configure invoicing, banking, expenses, employees, reports and taxes in QuickBooks. However, the most appreciable quality of QuickBooks is that, unlike other ERPs, it is very easy to implement. Maintaining QuickBooks is easy and doesn't require a dedicated support team. One best thing about QuickBooks Desktop Pro is that it is moderately priced, and its pricing plans suit startups and small-sized enterprises. To get such a robust accounting engine at that price point is impossible. Compared to its competitors, QuickBooks offer better accounting reports, product support, and system stability.
The one thing that QuickBooks finds challenging to handle is the high volume of master data. QuickBooks works perfectly with fewer suppliers, customers and transactional data. While QuickBooks realise most bookkeeping features, it doesn't offer many third-party integration opportunities. One scope for improvement in QuickBooks is that it can provide workflow customisations.
QuickBooks is at the core of our accounting process. The entire R2R record-to-report process is done in QuickBooks. The benefits we have reaped from utilising QuickBooks are numerous, our accounting software licensing costs have been reduced, and the cash flow visibility has increased many folds. QuickBooks Desktop Pro is a cloud-based accounting engine, and it can be accessed from anywhere, anytime, from any device, which has boosted productivity. QuickBooks Desktop Pro is a powerful software that accurately tracks income, expenses, and payments and has helped increase our business performance with its speed and accuracy.
We use quickbooks because it nominally allows us to keep track of time slips per employee for each customer based on service items. However, much of the functionality is augmented through the use of 2 different integrations because either quickbooks doesn't offer that feature at all, or charges exorbitant license fees for a whole new desktop solution when all I need is one small feature. That said, once you get used to how quickbooks just "does things" - using it isn't very difficult and pulling reports, etc makes a lot of sense.
I don't like their lock-in business model, making it nearly impossible to switch to a different accounting solution without a tremendous amount of administrative overhead and third-party expenses. I also dislike their model of trying to get accounting done on their cloud solution, which is not at all what we would be interested in due to serious privacy concerns (like an IRS audit).
Through some creative integrations, we're now able to pull up job costing reports based on employee effort logged aggregated with job cost expenses, etc. We're also able to have multiple employees log time slips through another provider which then syncs just the slip data directly into quickbooks.
I use Quickbooks mostly for creating, processing, and tracking purchase orders and inventory for my company. I had no experience with Quickbooks a year ago, but already feel quite confident in it. Very user friendly and organized in a way that makes sense. I appreciate the way it stores data for each product number you save, and will auto populate that into future purchase orders. Also a nice feature of Quickbooks is that you can easily track PO's by date, vendor, or PO number in the program. I can check within minutes if the accountant has processed payment on a specific order, what items were submitted with a certain PO, or when the PO was submitted.
While quickbooks is good at auto populating data into PO's, it sometimes is frustrating trying to edit the price, or item description, takes several steps to go in, find the right product number, and then change the data to reflect updated price/item specifications, etc. Also a bit difficult that there is no easy way to break down an item into price brackets. We deal with a lot of products that have varying prices depending on quantity ordered, but quickbooks doesn't have an easy way to input this in the system for PO creating and item descriptions.
Quickbooks helps us stay organized and have detailed info on everything that is going in and coming out of our business. Quickbooks also allows for better commmunication between different departments, as multiple department heads can access the system. I deal more with order tracking and fullfillment, so if a vendor contacts me regarding a previous order we placed, or I need to process a return, everything is organized and readily available to me. This makes it easier for me to communicate with accounting, and make sure everyone knows what's going on with each order.
Quickbooks accounting software is the most user-friendly accounting software for small businesses. I have used numerous software in the accounting industry and none hit the price point and features that Quickbooks does. The ease of use and tutorials provided make this an easy product for the small business start-up, a mid-level company of revenues in the 1mil-2mil range. I have used premier, pro, and enterprise and PRO are great for small businesses without a lot of transactions. The cost is user-friendly if you do not add on any services such as payroll, etc.
Quickbooks has a lot of internal promotion for the other products it offers. It can be annoying when you do not need another service, but that is what they keep trying to push at you. Quickbooks desktop pro also comes out annually now and encourages you to buy year after year, despite very few overall changes. At $300 as an average price, this can add up. They also do not offer service or help on versions older than 3 years forcing you to upgrade your version. I think the company would benefit from better customer experience making them feel valued instead of forcing upgrades.
Quickbooks Desktop Pro is a business solution for small business accounting. I have hundreds of customers that are using QuickBooks and all say the same thing. Easy to use for novice and professional alike. Quickbooks is one of the most used accounting software that are clients are using.
The interface is easy to use and quick to learn. There is also a wealth of local and web-based resources to learn the software. The feature set included is extensive especially considering the low price-point compared to other accounting solutions.
Performance in the 14.0 versions lags more than prior versions. Speed and responsiveness, particularly in queries could be better.
Accounting, Project and Job costing, business intelligence and analytics. The cost to train and bring users up to speed is less with QuickBooks than other accounting software packages I've used. That has been a real benefit for us and our clients.
I've used Quickbooks for years and it has been so simple to navigate. It's simple to go back to invoices from previous years and in seconds find the invoice.
I dislike the price point of Quickbooks. I work at a small business and we have Quickbooks on one computer and its significant cost to get Quickbooks on multiple computers.
I use Quickbooks to look up past prices on invoices for previous clients when they request similar work years later. It makes creating a proposal easy since I know what we've charged in the past.
We use Quickbooks to keep up with modern times with our business. We love having everything in one place that multiple users can access and edit. The search features are pretty great when we can't locate a hard copy of something.
It is rather pricey for the individual licenses and the cost to run payroll every year is also an additional expense. We could farm out the payroll aspect but it likely would cost more and not be as convenient as having everything in one place.
We have to pay monthly taxes and it is very easy to search all of our invoices for the month to see what we paid and did not pay. It is also easy to cost different jobs and see where we are making or losing money.
The Quickbooks program is easy for anyone to use. It is great for budgeting and keeping track of expenses. I use it for my husbands Locksmith business and I realized this would be great for personal banking and expense tracking, too! It has been saving us money.
I guess the only thing I could dislike is the price.
Seeing where money is going and how much is coming is easier to track with Quickbooks pro.
