It has a 3D working advantage, you can prepare and construct the whole big projects, also cloud feature helps to save storage assets.
It requires strong computer parameters to use. It is very expensive to purchase. Also, it took my vast time to learn it properly.
Autocad tool should be accessible to everybody because it is great. Hope they will reconsider the price issue.
i like that is a program that is used all around the world and makes the multidisciplinary work easier, i can send a draw made on autocad to a engineer on ther other side of the world and it will be able to use it because it handle the software too.
i dislike nothing of the program and i use it everyday at work.
drawing, layouts read and editing, production
It is definitely the easiest to use design software for both 2d and 3d works. The user interface is similar to everyday PC design tools like paint etc. Designs can easily be plotted to pdf, jpeg for various other uses
It does not support simulation and animation except the advance Autocad 3D suite
Autocad had been helpful in developing process flow diagram, piping and instrumentation diagrams, plot plans for plants and also designing simple floor plans
Its a tool with a lot of funtions for the Cad drawing, can create 2d or 3d objets or layouts easily and without restrictions, there is always a botton or function for the task you are looking for, and the capability of use comands on the keyboard makes the job easier and faster
For beginners in cad it's difficult to learn to use it but with dedication and a couple of drawings you can start to work with it efficiently.
visualize all the layouts of the proyects and make the corrections needed
Auto CAD is undoubtedly the best drawing tool that exists, with years of experience it is improving more and more in its newer versions. I always love its interface and how easy it is to get the best drawings quickly. I like the compatibility that it has with many other software and every year they are more, this association is great. One of the tools that I consider of my favorites is the import and export, since it allows me to work with other programs using this incredible program as a basis. It is without equal the precision and preference with which you can draw, the simplicity in which you can literally make any figure. The plotting method is fundamental, it allows you to modify the size of the sheet, slaves, among others, which are very functional and reduce lost time. The export to PDF is great.
I do not like much the way to draw in 3D, but for the rest I do not have any kind of problems with this software.
it allows me to draw in a simple, functional and highly professional way my projects for my personal clients since I work doing plans, my clients are totally satisfied with my work and that is a result of the use of this software.
I love that year after year they keep moving forward and improving the operativeness, I have always found the best tool of digital drawing, which allows an end of commands and tools very useful and easy to use. It is excellent when interacting with other software thanks to the import and export command, which allows you to import digital and 3D images to the model, and export your own drawing to share. The precision it allows is impressive, as is the way to scale and adjust the sizes of the page to export images or to print and print. In short, I think that the best drawing tool and that can help endless professionals such as architects, engineers and designers.
The license of the program is a bit high. Could improve the 3D drawing tool
it helps me to draw my designs in a very practical and efficient way, with bold and highly accurate tools, my clients are satisfied to see such well elaborated works. At the time of plotting is excellent and easy to use which has saved me a lot of work time
It allows exchanging information not only by paper, but by means of files, and this represents an improvement in speed and effectiveness when interpreting designs. It is possible to draw both in 3D and in 2D: from the 2D drawing in plan, there is the possibility of generating the 3D model in a much shorter time than it is used to draw an isometric or a perspective by hand. It has become a standard in computer design because it is very versatile, being able to expand the base program through programming.
The program has a high cost, due to its license. Knowing how to fully use the software requires a lot of time since there are many functions, and even that they are of little application, since they are very specific. It requires a powerful computer to work with processing speed, and a high space on the hard drive.
Drawings reviews and printing
is a fantastic tool for second and third dimensional structures designs ideal for projects, calculations, analysis the best option for structural plans
It seems to me that on occasions it consumes a lot of computer processing resources, so the demands are quite high in terms of RAM and processor
allows the planning of the spaces, layout of the structures, projection of pipelines
It is handy in multiple applications since we can have many add ons like flow planner installed
It is definitely not easy to use at first and not very user friendly in the beginning
Layout and flow plannin
Autocad is an extremely powerful CAD software, which is extremely easy to use. It has simple commands that are easily accessible via the GUI the software provides, which makes learning a lot of them unnecessary, which is not to say that they are complicated to use, since they normally require for you to know only 2 or 3 steps. In autodesk they tried to keep things as simple as possible, from importing to exporting your data to utilizing every editing tool and commands available in the large library that autocad provides.
There are only two things I don’t like about autocad, the first one is that it requires a lot of graphic power from your computer to run as smooth as possible, so don’t think you will be able to run it to its fullest potential in a regular PC. Second, the license is extremely expensive, and in cases you are not working every day with plans designs or modelling is just not worth it to pay this vast amount of money. Otherwise I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this software.
We use autocad mostly for plans designs of industrial facilities, whether they are new designs or modifications required by our customers. We also create 3D models of parts and pieces that accompany the designs created.
It's the first drafting program i used and I still use it to this day. It continues to be relevant in my industry. I'd be lost without it.
I would say that out of all programs, it crashes the least amount, but still crashes sometimes.
Technical specifying, furniture design. It's very intuitive
Very useful tool when it comes to 2D drawings. Lines work with different line thickness it's one of major responsibilities of AutoCAD. All its tools are completely useful to the user. Also its deployment and getting started is such an easy task.
To be frank AutoCAD has been so helpful to me and my organization.
Business enhancement. Production of good services on its field.
Years ago (not so long ago actually...) engineers used large drawing tables and plenty of pencils of different thickness. Luckily, AutoCAD is born and we have greatly improved our work. You can create everything with AutoCAD from simple to incredibly complex drawings. The best part is that you have a right to make mistakes while working. and then you don't have to destroy the whole drawing. AutoCAD offers a lot of tools to make your job easier. I adore the windows there. You can draw in the first window and then create a final drawing in the next windows with frames and inscriptions. It makes my job a lot easier because I can use blanks. Text commands help you as well. You don't need to look for the tool every time just remember the text command for it. And I like to make notes with not printed text.
When the drawing is too big, AutoCAD becomes not stable and you can lose your success if you forgot to save the file. It is obvious that you can't open a file from the newest version in the oldest one. This is a nuisance. AutoCAD has a loooot of features, but beginners do not really know about them and a lot of users still utilize just simple functions.
AutoCAD is a necessary engineer tool. My advice is to get to know some literature about it, just to realize what you can create and how AutoCAD can improve your efficiency.
1. A good choice for computer-aided mechanical design. 2. You have the opportunity to verify your 3d designs so that each detail matches what is going to be manufactured. 3. Availability of several formats for printing the plans. 4. Your files can be used by 3D printers and thus carry out the manufacture of the products. 5. Its interface is very friendly. Certainly you need practice to know the advantages of each function and how they operate. 6. As a project engineer, allows you to have control of your projects and work in conjunction with your work team.
1. It is slow if you are working with complex 3d designs. 2. Sometimes the program is closed or hangs up and some of the plans are lost. 3. It is an expensive program. 4. Although there are some free licenses for universities, they expire after a certain time. For universities in developing countries it is very hard to afford licenses. Therefore, so many engineering students do not have an opportunity to have a deep approach with the program.
Design of a friction machine. "pin on disk" configuration. Design of static particle disperser, eductor and coupon holder for sand retention test cell. Also, ergonomic improvements: design and construction of tools for installing “block beam”, “cow face” and “crossbows”. Besides design of riveting hammers.
I like being able to flesh out designs without constraints or requiring parametric relations. AutoCAD is great for the first stages of design when you might need to slash and hack like drawing a napkin sketch. Other software is not as free/open, often requiring specific measurements to be entered.
I dislike the rendering ability of AutoCAD. AutoCAD lacks fully functional ray tracing inside of AutoCAD itself which makes it very difficult to get accurate renderings without another software to help. I draw a lot of parts and use renderings to make them appeal to consumers of the products. Without a fully functional add-on or standalone product, AutoCAD is not able to deliver highly realistic renderings out of the box.
AutoCAD is used to edit drawings of machine parts that are more than 20 years old. This lets us keep a vast database of almost every part that has ever been made by our facility and we can easily share the DWG format with other platforms.
I like that Autocad is extremely accurate for designing massive event spaces. You can easily create blocks containing like items, modify and create unique items for easy modification and this software is the front runner for architecture, blueprints and other building design.
I dislike looking at dark colors with bright neon layers after a while, but it makes it easier to see what you're doing. You have to really get used to working in the skeleton view and might be difficult to use if you're not able to visualize objects without seeing them whole.
I design floorplans, as well as booth layouts and put together parts and panels lists for our warehouse to pull.
I really appreciate the user interface for the software.
My least favorite aspect of using AutoDesk is the fact that sometimes it crashes on me.
I use AutoCAD for pursuing another degree in Engineering. I have used it for floor layouts, modeling machinery parts for internships.
It gives you many tools to draw any kind of drawing on a sheet whether it's 2D or 3D dimensions. For industrial purpose it has helped me a lot. It is very versatile software distributed with various functions and features which helps you to recreate your drawing even in a more better way. AutoCAD is a very reputed software in industry of engineering and development which leads the our technology in a new way.
AutoCAD offers so much of tools and some of them are complex to learn for a new user. Drawing made by AutoCAD affects when we have to make a very complex project and we have to gain very deep knowledge to do all that thing. AutoCAD requires much powerful platform to run on any system. It so much hangs on my windows 7 but I think it should work fine with windows 8.
Whenever it comes for drafting and drawing in engineering, I have never thought of any other software because AutoCAD is with me. It is very useful software which helps in drawing many complex drawing in very less time. Really this software is a boon to engineering field and I will recommend every user to go for AutoCAD first, then you will never ever think of any other software.
This app has so many features like trim, fillet and so on which increases the speed of your work and it also has blank white and black sheet where you can work as per your need. AutoCAD is much powerful tool that has helped me to draw any kind of drawing of any kind of object.
It takes so much time to open the software because it contains too much files. Android version is AutoCAD is not so developed but it's fine.
This is very user friendly app that I love to use it everyday. I will recommend everyone to use it. This app has saved my so much of time.
I like AUTOCAD because I can make plans for my telecommunications projects, it allows me to simulate the spaces available for the installation of new equipment. I also like it because in some projects I have to install pipes in the streets and this allows me to have a clear vision of how the project will be executed.
I would like to use it at home since I only use it at work, but it is expensive to license the software for me.
I use it to make the blueprints of my projects and so when the technicians are going to install they already know in what place and in what space each equipment should be placed.
