"Very user friendly"
What do you like best about AutoCAD?

I like that, compared to other similar products, autocad seems to make an effort to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to keeping a modern look and being intuitive to work with. The program always feels relatively quick, and solutions tend to be easy to find when issues do spring up every now and then.

What do you dislike about AutoCAD?

I dislike when there are difficult errors with linking ex-referenced files, although this doesn't happen too often. Also, linking mapping can be different using geographical points. I feel as though this could be much more intuitive.

What problems is AutoCAD solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use the program for layout designs of project sites. It helps a lot when it comes to pulling together multiple design files to see what impacts they have on natural resources.

"AUTOCAD "The great software for Architects, Designers & Engineers"
What do you like best about AutoCAD?

1) AutoCAD is the classic tool that everyone uses and it's hard to work as a designer not knowing this program. The demand AutoCAD puts on your computer operating system is quite high thus requiring you have the best operating components available. It costs a bit more but will ensure smooth operating. 2)The positive impact is that with AutoCAD I am able to make scaled drawings. I like that the files can be shared between various members on a team so that everyone can work on the files. Also, a great feature is that the files can be linked together so that there is no need to go back and make changes to every single file. On the contrary, the AutoCAD permits export as a third party extension such as pdf. A bunch of different softwares permit export as AutoCAD drawing however the exported files accuracy is distorted. 3)The business is predominantly based on making and selecting the best design feature of the products. Most drawings are done on AutoCAD. 4) It is well suited to create drawings with specific dimensions and details to present a clean plan for clients. We use it as a 2D and 3D drawing tool! We use it for our production technical drawings and also for 3D presentation to our customers. It can crash at random times or hangup on large files. The ability to combine multiple tasks in one programmer, such as 2D drawings, 3D renderings, and schedules, is desirable as an architect when efficiency and coordination is key. AutoCAD falls down or less appropriate at this, as it does not have these multiple functions

What do you dislike about AutoCAD?

1) Nothing, everything is just perfect with this software, the only thing I would just say is the performance and compatibility with RAM and the memory you need free on your computer. Also, the updates from AutoDESK are a little tedious and can slow down your performance but you then only need to downgrade your service packs and problem fixed. 2) It crashes all the time and I lose work and have to do it all over again. Also the fact that is a basic app for many people, to work in more specific subjects, AutoCAD is too simple, and there are other apps that can provide other new an advance tools. 3) It is expensive and it takes up a lot of storage space. The license of the program has a high cost and it requires a computer with a lot of memory space in to it. 4) Hatch processing is not good . It is slow and unresponsive at times.

What problems is AutoCAD solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use AutoCAD for some 2D & 3D layouts and a lot of signal design schematics. As an engineering firm, AutoCAD is very useful for our designs and internal projects. As an Assistant Signal designer, without this software I think I could not work, it is really essential to use this software now in my life for my work, I have presented a lot of drawings for large and small projects by using AutoCAD. It has helped me in various projects and every day I learn more about the tools, which allows me to say that AutoCAD is the best professional quality engineering and architecture program for the design .

"I use it to keep my facilties drawings up to date"
What do you like best about AutoCAD?

Ease of use, I have been using AutoCAD since 1987.

What do you dislike about AutoCAD?

Change from buying product to leasing, they are trying to lock you in.

What problems is AutoCAD solving and how is that benefiting you?

I always have up to date drawing files for electrical, plumbing, mechanical and architectural. When in house changes are made I update my drawings in AutoCAD it makes for a safer environment when a tradesman needs to look at something to know what circuit feeding equipment or being feed from emergency panels.

"Best drafting Software"
What do you like best about AutoCAD?

I like the functionality of the entire autocad program and its many benefits of time savings.

What do you dislike about AutoCAD?

I don't care too much for the cost associated with the product. The price for a stand-alone license is too expensive.

What problems is AutoCAD solving and how is that benefiting you?

Engineering related to construction.

"Great CAD Program"
What do you like best about AutoCAD?

I love how intuitive it is and super easy to use! I was able to learn this program throughout my college career and it has been very helpful in my professional career as well! I feel that this is now an industry standard as I have seen most clients using this program and emphasizing the use of it throughout projects.

What do you dislike about AutoCAD?

There are confusions that occur with view ports when edits are conducted by not properly communicated while being reviewed. I also wish that all CAD programs were more similar as I am using a few different ones from time and time and not all features are identical. There are quite a few different settings that I have noticed are different dependent on the computer that I have used but I have not been able to find the exact changes necessary to make the program more user friendly.

What problems is AutoCAD solving and how is that benefiting you?

Manufacturing line layouts as well as machines and parts of machines throughout client projects and necessities. We have realized that spacial issues can be solved rather easily with this rather than trial and error of human measurements. Throughout my professional career, I have found that this program is super beneficial to use for spacial issues rather than needing to travel to plants prior to implementations that have saved $1,000s in travel expenses.

"Extremely useful tool"
What do you like best about AutoCAD?

Among other things, I use it to essentially build a model using real dimensions to check my designs. I catch a lot of geometry mistakes this way which would otherwise result in costly construction problems.

What do you dislike about AutoCAD?

It is a pricey software and not used by all owners (some still require microstation).

What problems is AutoCAD solving and how is that benefiting you?

Using CAD allows different disciplines to work simultaneously. By x-Reffing drawings you can see what other disciplines are showing. These overlays work especially well in projectwise which allows different offices to work together.

"Best tool for 2D drafting"
What do you like best about AutoCAD?

Plenty of options like importing of pdf/jpg drafting over the image, many editing tools and cool shortcut keys. User-friendly & AutoCAD shows excellent outputs with the help of points and lines.

What do you dislike about AutoCAD?

It is cost-effective. Auto CAD requires high performing system/laptop with excellent network connectivity; learning takes more time. we cannot able to view in 3D.

What problems is AutoCAD solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps to prepare mine, section, and surface plans and allows for Civil works to prepare mine infrastructure. It saves a lot of time and improves my efficiency in design and planning.

"Best CAD software for Civil and Mechanical engineers"
What do you like best about AutoCAD?

AutoCAD can be considered as the most commercially successful Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. This software is more popular in Civil and Mechanical engineering sectors which enable the professionals to use advanced designing and drafting technologies.

What do you dislike about AutoCAD?

The software has a heavy price tag. Licenses are issued on an annually renewable basis. Also, the hardware requirement is also high-end, which contributes to increasing the startup cost.

What problems is AutoCAD solving and how is that benefiting you?

Designing process in AutoCAD is possible both in 2D and 3D. Traditional designs give very little details of dimensional perspective. AutoCAD not only makes the design process run smoothly but also gives accurate designs.
